Superboy 1 1949
This comic is in amazingly good shape for a book that’s 74 years old. This is NOT A REPRINT, but an actual first printing. Superman himself had been extraordinarily popular for over a decade, so it was only natural that he could be equally so in his younger years. ” This premier issue contains three thrilling stories: “The Man Who Could See Tomorrow, ” “The Boy Vandals, ” and “Superboy Meets Mighty Boy. Who could ask for more than that? I aim to please! There is some tape along the spine, and a few small pieces of tape on pages in the book itself, possibly to repair small rips. In each case, the tape is barely noticeable, unless one is looking for it. Whoever owned this book before me did a superb repair job! Two pages around the center of the book seem to have been trimmed slightly, but none of the artwork is affected. The front and back covers are very slightly rumpled, but there is still some gloss. I haven’t noticed any yellowing or brittleness, so, if nothing else, this book will make a fine reading copy as well as a cherished member of your collection. So, if you feel like splurging a bit, treat yourself to a fine Golden Age comic that’s sure to offer delight for another 74 years, if it receives the treatment that it deserves! Which I’m sure it will! Watch for more Golden Age books in future listings!
