Detective Comics #57 in Very Good Plus (4.5) unrestored condition. This is a beautiful midgrade copy of a scarce early Detective Comics that presents beautifully. There’s only 33 unrestored copies on the CGC Census and 7 more restored for a total of just 40 copies. I have checked this for restoration with multiple different lights, a magnifying glass and checked the spine and both covers to make sure there was no glue for tear seals or binding the spine. I also had my dad, who’s been working with and grading comics for over 30 years go over it and he could not detect any restoration either. This copy has a minor edge chip on the front cover and first 2 pages, a minor color scrape just above the bottom staple, very minor staple tears, some creasing and dimples on the front cover. Interior is nice but has a 1 edge tear on one of the pages (see pic). Back cover has minor blunted edge on the top left half and 1/4 spine tear. There is a very small piece missing from the bottom of the spine. 1/8 edge tear on the opening of the back cover and minor soiling by the top corner of the back cover and a spot near the middle of the spine. I have put up large high quality pictures of all parts of the front and back cover as well as the centerfold. If you have any questions just message me. Thanks for looking and check back for more Golden Age DC and Key Silver Age.
