This listing is for Weird Mysteries #5, published by Gilmor Magazines in 1953. This is one of the most recognizable of all pre-code horror covers. According to the CGC census, there are only 68 graded copies. This comic was rated 1.0 (“Fair”) by CGC. Its most significant defects (noted on the CGC label) are “Brittle Pages” and Spine of cover completely split & cover detached. For those unfamiliar with Newton Rings: This is an occasional effect produced by the inner and outer cases being in direct contact with one another. The visual effect is similar to oil on a water puddle because of the two plastics.
