HtYoung Men 24 CGC 7.0 cream to off white pages 12/53. Bill Everett art Brodsky cover. Only 2 copies have graded higher. Don’t miss your chance to make an offer on this extremely rare key Marvel/Atlas comic from December 1953. Mid grade copies only surface every couple of years. Some have argued that this is actually the first silver age comic as Marvel/Atlas had stopped printing all their super hero titles and stories from the Golden Age. Marvel/Atlas brought them back for a short time only printing about 2 dozen super hero comics in the 1950s. That’s not 2 dozen titles either. Only about 2 dozen super hero issues were printed by Marvel in the 1950s. Young Men 24 is considered the most valuable of all comics printed in 1953 by any publisher. It is also the most valuable comic printed by Atlas/Marvel in the 1950s. Only 2 copies of this comic have ever graded higher and only a very small handful of collectible copies are even known to exist. This issue retells the origins of Captain America, Human Torch, Sub-Mariner, and Red Skull with appearances by Bucky and Toro also. It’s also the 1st appearance of Captain America III and Jack Monroe aka Nomad. This book is crazy rare and has even crazier stories. It is even loaded with Cold War propaganda of the time. In this issue Toro, Human Torch’s side kick, is brain washed by North Korea. Human Torch and Toro actually fight making this an early super hero battle issue. Captain America comes back from the dead but as we find out later on in the Marvel Universe he is not really the original Steve Rodgers. He is actually Captain America III, see Captain America 153, which actually makes this issue his first appearance. Rather strange how Captain America III appears before Captain America II but it is the Marvel Universe. Bucky is thought to come back also but is actually Jack Monroe who later turns out to be Nomad making this issue Nomad’s 1st appearance. Red Skull is actually a Russian commie imposter rather than a Nazi in this story. This is some really wild stuff but strangely enough the stories are picked back up by Marvel during the Bronze Age. Please message me if you would like to try to come to an arrangement or if you have any questions at all. Just in case anyone is wondering, I have not had this comic pressed. Although, I may have it pressed if it doesn’t sell on this go around. It could possibly go up a grade with a press. This book in collectible condition doesn’t hit the market very often. I’ve held on to this book over almost all of my Silver Age super key issues. This issue is finally getting some attention as of late but is still considered by many to be a major sleeper/underrated book so don’t miss your chance. What are you waiting for?
